Scharping, C. Zetzsch, H.A. Dessouki Title: The UV Absorption Spectra of the Trichlorobenzenes and the Higher Chlorinated Benzenes in the Gas Phase and in n-Hexane Solution Journal/Source: J. Mol. Spectr., 123, 382-391, (1987); http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/0022-2852(87)90286-4 Data: diagram, table Energy/Wavelength range: 33000 - 60000 cm-1 (~ 167 - 303 nm) Resolution: 50 cm-1 Temperature: 298 K Temperature dependence: Pressure/Concentration: Phase: gas; n-hexane solution pH: Comments: Absolute absorption cross sections are determined for the three isomeric trichlorobenzenes in the gas phase in the region from 33000 to 60000 cm-1, and relative absorption cross sections of the tetrachlorobenzenes, pentachlorobenzene, and hexachlorobenzene are presented in the region from 40000 to 60000 cm-1. Spectra in n-hexane solution are determined for comparison. The absorption cross sections for the maxima are listed in table 1. For lambda = 45090 cm-1 the absorption cross section sigma = 2.34 x 10-17 cm2/molecule and for lambda = 51150 cm-1 the absorption cross section is sigma = 2.02 x 10-16 cm2/molecule.
